Early morning Amsterdam, just after I exited Central Station on Tuesday, February 10, after flying overnight from Michigan. The photo doesn't do justice to the breathtaking pink-and-orangeness of it all.

I was there researching at the International Institute of Social History. Other highlights included being introduced to two seasonal delicacies: a beer called "Bok" and a soup known as "Snert."
